Nearly 4 (still)
Whilst on things democratic, the government is consulting about its proposed planning reforms - see what you think. Our area has more Sites of Scientific Special Interest than the South Downs National Park and we also have more internationally designated wildlife harbours than any other British District, not to mention the AONB. Three quarters of all visitors to the District stay on the Manhood, making it an intrinsic part of our economy. Should we be on the ‘protected’ list?
Things are quietening down, but not stopping completely. Donna is still dealing with some issues our smaller businesses have, related to the financial impact of Covid, I have been asked to help a nice lady from Itchenor, and Ward work for us both is still ongoing. On the weather, I think we can finally agree that Summer has finally arrived and, understandably, we all want to get out and mingle a bit. Unfortunately, we keep getting reports of a lack of social distancing, antisocial behaviour and poor parking. Don’t forget the lower part of the Latest page of our website has advice and links to help you report any concerns you may have directly, and of course you are welcome to get in touch with us too.
There are now free pavement licences available to support local businesses. As you may have guessed, the timing is deliberately linked to the Government’s Eat Out ot Help Out Scheme. Something that might also interest local businesses looking for an easier and quicker way to collect customer data is Covid SecQR which allows customers to use their smartphone camera to check in with you.
As always, stay safe
