Covid apps & QR Codes
Have you had your
first mince pie of the season yet? I have, with cream, but I am blaming Donna
for buying it for me.
I have just entered
my daily update in the Covid Symptom Study app I mentioned last week - you can learn more about it here. I also, like many
of you, now have the NHS Covid-19 contact
tracing app which uses the first half of your postcode to tell you the risk level
in the District / Borough you live in and your Bluetooth to warn you if you
have spent more than 15 minutes within two metres of someone who tests
positive.
Like many other
businesses and places of work, my school has registered as a venue for the NHS
app. In case you missed it, this is the site to
register your venue(s) and get your own QR code(s) from.
This Tuesday was
Chichester’s Full Council meeting. For once, Members, irrespective of
Party, voted to challenge the Government’s two Planning consultations due to the
massive impact on our District: a large percentage has National Park status
and, together with the AONBs and other important ecological sites, means that
there is not a great deal of land left.
On Monday, Donna has
a meeting at Selsey Town Council to put together their response to these two
consultations. This week she also has a meeting of CDC’s Development and
Infrastructure Panel and a Hospital Governor’s meeting, whilst I have a meeting
of CDC’s Organisational Recovery Team
We all realise this
is going to be a tough winter and our Team know first hand that many local
businesses are fearing the worst. Other people are worried they will lose their
job. In case it is helpful, the Department for Work and
Pensions has published guidance on how you can claim Universal Credit to try
out part-time or flexible work.

As
always, stay safe
