5 weeks...
Crime is a big concern across our District: we all have an interest in helping reduce it. Chichester Police are investigating a burglary in Selsey on November 14 where a number of high value watches were stolen If you were in its High Street, and may have seen something, please contact them on 101 quoting serial 0551 14/11 or click here to report online.
Another local concern is the Local Plan, which is still very much a ‘work in progress’ and it may be that the Government look again at the Housing algorithm due to a number of concerns which have been raised across the country.
Last week, we mentioned CDC’s
Countdown to Christmas campaign which is focussed on encouraging us all to shop local. Donna was
photographed with local traders for the media campaign on Thursday holding the
Selsey one of these downloadables: -
This week Overview and Scrutiny considered a request from the Mayor of Chichester to ask CDC’s Cabinet to reconsider their decision to raise parking charges from April and agreed with us that this would send a bad signal at the present time. You can watch the meeting live from 9.30pm on Tuesday by clicking here, then later Donna and I from 2pm at Full Council..
Healthwatch West Sussex have launched their ‘Ask Us – Tell Us’ campaign which is part of a Healthwatch in Sussex campaign also running in Brighton & Hove and East Sussex. They want to ensure people can quickly find answers about local services during lockdown and to support the NHS and Social Care to understand what is and isn't working well for people..
Finally: -
- You
may have read about the continuation of regular markets in Chichester,
at which you can continue to purchase fresh food products
and plants from a small number of traders in the Cattle Market car park
from 8am on Wednesdays and Saturdays, with the Farmers Market on the first
and third Friday each month;
- This
advice on what to do should you be flooded reached
me this week;
- CDC have launched a new campaign Make Your Change Count to help ensure rough sleepers receive the right help.
As always, from the whole Team, stay safe.
