Have you come across a Covid Ambassador yet? CDC are working with Blayde Security to deliver this service in Chichester, Midhurst, Petworth, Selsey and East Wittering/Bracklesham. Staff will be working in pairs and wear a red vest with “Covid Ambassador” on the back. They will introduce themselves to local businesses and work with them to assist where possible. Their role is not to enforce COVID-19 regulations - enforcement powers remain the remit of the police and designated local authority compliance and enforcement officers - but to engage, explain and encourage best practice and national COVID-19 secure guidance, promoting social distancing, encouraging compliance with COVID-19 public health measures, educating and explaining COVID-19 Secure guidelines and supporting businesses and premises not following guidelines, escalating as appropriate.
A Charter for Social Housing Residents has been published as a white paper by the Government, setting out what every social housing resident should expect from their landlord; this includes being safe in their home, knowing how their landlord is performing, having their complaints dealt with promptly and fairly, being treated with respect, having their voice heard by their landlord, having a good quality home and neighbourhood to live in, and being supported to take their first step to ownership. The white paper sets out how the government will reform the Regulator of Social Housing and Housing Ombudsman service to drive a cultural change, which should help to drive up standards of social housing.
West Sussex Healthwatch spoke to the NHS dental helpline on 17 November and were told that no dentists are accepting new NHS patients for routine care in either Sussex or Kent at the moment; however all practices with an NHS contract are expected to at least offer telephone advice and triage for a face-to-face appointment to anyone whether they are known to the practice or not, within their NHS capacity. The Novium Museum is offering ten schools the chance to win a Roman themed virtual field trip to celebrate the launch of the museum’s new digital learning programme. They have been developed in response to the challenges faced by primary schools as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, and made possible thanks to grant funding from Art Fund’s Respond and Reimagine programme. Designed especially for children aged 7 to 11 years old, the interactive virtual trips will be available for schools to hire from February 2021. The three different themes to choose from are Britain before the Romans, Roman Daily Life and Roman Army.
Finally, you can find out about events and activities taking place across the district this festive season with CDC's new What’s On calendar and this is the Government information about visits to Care Homes.
As always from the whole Team, stay safe
