Caught in the act...

As I posted earlier when the news broke, like any other family that has suffered a bereavement, our thoughts are with the Royal family at this time.

CDC have a Condolence book you can sign

Do you like birds? A lot of people do, some not so. The recent roadmap easing allowed us to catch up with my first two daughters and meet my second one’s significant other, who works on the ambulances with her. It turns out that he likes birds, which may be a sensible choice because hearing birdsong might boost our mental health and wellbeing, and during lockdown we may have heard more of it.

We met up in Arundel which has one of the castles in Sussex that could be straight out of a fairytale. Arundel is a good midway spot because they live in Shoreham, and is a lovely place for an inland walk. If you prefer a coastal walk there are some ideas here. If you have a dog, these beaches will interest you. If you like a historical aspect when you are out, Chichester has some new statues. Wherever you choose to go out, this guidance from CDC may prove useful.

Wherever you like to walk, this petition to prioritise brownfield development in law to protect our greenbelt and farmland might interest you. This coming week, our team will be doing quite a bit of walking because the West Sussex election campaign has officially begun (full details across our District are here): I’m hoping to get some way in losing my ‘lockdown lump’ while Donna loves seeing what other people are doing with their gardens. If you also like to get ideas from other people’s gardens, this is for you.

Localism is about community, not political profile; we had to pause our regular newsletters because of Covid so we have decided to only stand (Donna) for the Selsey seat. We hope to restart our newsletters soon and are always happy to hear from anyone who wants to learn more.

Next week, there are fewer public meetings but you can still watch past ones back: this is where you go for  CDC, whilst this is where you can catch up on West Sussex.

And finally: -

As always, from the whole Team, stay safe

Tim
