This week is our last blog before the District and Parish elections this coming Thursday, 4th May, and as the count is all day next Friday, with an uncertain finish, the most important thing I must do is to thank the Facebook admins who have kindly allowed us to keep you up to speed for the last four years, particularly Luke and Emma: throughout the lockdowns they helped us keep you informed of the local situation with regard to cases, vaccinations and other key updates like the Community Hub. They do what they do for no gain, so we can all be better informed. Thank you all once again! However you cast it, it is important you vote (with voter ID) on Thursday. Don’t forget CDC decide planning applications and business licences, they also run services like our bin collections, public toilets, community wardens and the foreshore team. To protect the Peninsula, we believe the last four years have proven the need for as many Independent Local Alliance Councillors on CDC as possible, and a s...

This week saw the end of the Easter Holidays, and return to school for families across the country. We are now in the Summer Term, which of course includes exam season. Many of you will actually be casting your vote shortly after reading this week’s post, or will have jus...

We wish to start with an apology to the Witterings, because we felt it best, as we are a small, self-funding group, to only stand candidates in Selsey; however, if anyone reads this from the Witterings, we are keen to recommend Graeme Barrett to you, because he has demonstrated his integrity and local commitment by leaving the Conservatives to stand independently for CDC. Like us, he is focussed on making a difference, and worried about over-development, the A27, sewage and flooding. You will still have two other votes for your District Councillors on May 4 to give to your preferred candidate, but if Graeme and our four candidates are successful, for the first time, most of the Peninsula’s representation will only answer to you, our residents, and not a party machine. Our success in advocating for Selsey and the Witterings housing allocations to be zeroed, proves why this would be so positive, backed by the weight of a majority on Selsey Town Council which, after the City, is our Distr...
