  Welcome to this week's blog. As always, thank you for sparing the time to have a read. We hope you were able to enjoy the better weather this week, even if you only managed a short walk. We still have five of the six weeks of Summer so please remember that children can visit West Sussex libraries and join Amelia, Riley, Bob the dog and friends, to complete the 2024 Summer Reading Challenge, Marvellous Makers. On Saturday Donna and I were alerted to a traveller incursion at East Beach in Selsey. We went to check and saw they had driven on to the Foreshore access road and camped on the green itself. Both are owned by CDC. Donna took some footage and I phoned it in. Later I was contacted, while checking another (inaccurate) report of an incursion on the Oval Field, to be told it was being passed to WSCC who act for CDC in these matters and the police. We have continued to monitor the situation several times a day, and have been repeatedly pressing both bodies for an eviction. We are...

As always, thank you for sparing the time to have a read.  The six weeks of Summer have begun, so please remember that children can visit West Sussex libraries and join Amelia, Riley, Bob the dog and friends, to complete the 2024 Summer Reading Challenge, Marvellous Makers. WSCC is recruiting volunteers aged 14 and over to support staff in promoting the Summer Reading Challenge. This was a busy week. On Tuesday, Val, Donna and I had Full CDC. (It was Donna’s third meeting of the day, which was a little unfortunate because it was also her birthday - so we are going to celebrate this week instead!) Claire Apel, the Chair of CDC, publicly congratulated Donna on her birthday and praised the Selsey D-Day 80 event. WSCC is recruiting volunteers aged 14 and over to support staff in promoting the Summer Reading Challenge. On Wednesday, Val had CDC’s Planning in the day, then in the evening there was STC's Assets & Amenities Committee after theirPlanning. Donna has been dealing with a family bereavement this week. This coming week there is CDC’s Corporate Governance & Audit Committee on Monday afternoon, then Tuesday evening Steve, Val, Donna and I have Full CDC. As always, thank you for sparing the time to have a read.  As the summer holidays are approaching, now is the time to book for WSCC's Holiday Activities & Food programme .  Plus, from July 13 until September 14, children can visit West Sussex libraries and join Amelia, Riley, Bob the dog and friends to complete the 2024 Summer Reading Challenge, Marvellous Makers. This encourages youngsters to keep reading over the holidays by offering rewards, including a medal and certificate if they read six library books of their choice. After registering online , children receive a special code word to reveal to their local library to get a fold-out poster and first set of scratch-and-sniff stickers.
