Welcome to this week's blog. As always, thank you for sparing the time to have a read. On Monday morning Ian and I had the latest STC Liaison Meeting with Senior Officers. In the afternoon I had CDC’s Corporate Governance and Audit Committee. Later in the week, Donna and I also had separate Teams meetings relating to our different responsibilities at CDC. meanwhile Ali, Andrew, Gareth, Mick and Val had STC's Planning on Wednesday. Watch CDC’s public meetings  A reminder that the Weald and Downland Museum’s Advent and Christmas Market  is on Saturday the 23rd and Sunday the 24th of November. The following Saturday, November 30th is when many civic Christmas lights will be turned on, particularly on the Peninsula. The High Street in Selsey will be closed from 12:00 to 19:30 - there will be a procession, a Santa in his grotto, animals and more.  The Friends of East Beach, thanks to a grant from Selsey Town Council, have a free grotto (with the Lion’s Santa) and face paint...

Welcome to this week's blog. As always, thank you for sparing the time to have a read. On Wednesday Val had CDC’s Licensing Committee then the team had an Extraordinary Full STC. Earlier today, Friday, Donna had Full WSCC . Watch CDC’s public meetings  It is the Sloe Fair this week - one of the earliest recorded fairs in Chichester. It was granted by King Henry I to Ralph de Luffa, Bishop of Chichester and is believed to be named after the Sloe tree which grew in fields by Northgate on the original site. Northgate car park closes at 6am on Saturday 19 October 2024 and reopens at 12 Noon Tuesday 22 October 2024. That leads us into local Christmas events, starting with t he Weald and Downland Museum’s Advent and Christmas Market which is on Saturday the 23rd and Sunday the 24th of November. Welcome to this week's blog. As always, thank you for sparing the time to have a read. On Wednesday, Andrew, Ian, Donna and I had an STC Personnel Committee meeting which considered the next steps for our Liaison Meetings with Senior Officers following the recent mandate from Full Council. Immediately afterwards, Donna and Andrew were joined by Mick, Val and Gareth for STC’s Assets and Amenities Committee. This coming Wednesday we all have an Extraordinary Full STC, then on Friday Donna has Full WSCC . Watch CDC’s public meetings  Last week I mentioned we had woken to our first condensated windows since the Summer, a sure sign winter is coming. This winter may well be colder than last year due to particular meteorological conditions coming into play, as you can read here .   Welcome to this week's blog. As always, thank you for sparing the time to have a read. Steve had CDC’s Parking Forum on Monday. On Tuesday, Val, Donna and I had Full CDC which had the welcome return of our Green colleague, Sarah Sharp. Steve had staff absence to cover so could not join us. It was also Donna and my wedding anniversary so, as it was a packed agenda, we celebrated with a McDonald’s afterwards, but intend to do more this weekend! On Tuesday we bade a sad farewell to Nicholas Bennett, Monitoring Officer, who has been very helpful to us and is leaving CDC. The main proposal at Council was giving the go ahead to formulate proposals to regenerate parts of the City, including the bus station area; Stagecoach want to move to a new facility elsewhere so they can electrify their fleet. I succeeded in getting an assurance that options to retain the unique architecture of the current depot would be considered and Donna was assured that Members like her who are regular bus user...
