  This week Andrew, Ian, Donna and I had an STC Personnel Committee Meeting at 6pm on Wednesday before the whole team joined us for Full Council at 7.30pm. Amongst the items considered were draft budget proposals for 2025/26, several community grant applications, parking issues in the High Street and the control of dogs in Town Council parks. This coming week, Donna and Val have CDC’s Planning on Wednesday.. Watch CDC’s public meetings . For most of this year, Mick and Val, helped by Mike, have been mending and fixing Selsey's civic Christmas lights ready for this coming weekend’s switch-on. Storm Bert caused the cancellation of several events last weekend so, all being well, we’ll have good weather tomorrow. The High Street in Selsey is closed from 12:00 when Santa's Grotto opens; the lights go on at 6pm. The Friends of East Beach's event begins at 2.30pm, with the lights going on at 5pm.   Welcome to this week's blog: thank you for sparing the time to have a read.  On Tuesday Steve, Val,  and I had Full CDC - Donna had a chest infection. On Wednesday Val had CDC’s Development, Planning and Infrastructure Panel. Donna was still unwell but is now on the mend. Watch CDC’s public meetings . The agenda at Full CDC included some important items, for instance I welcomed the continuation of the Council Tax Reduction Scheme, which was approved. We also considered and approved CDC’s 5-year Financial Strategy and Plan. We also agreed to continue funding for Voluntary Action Arun & Chichester for the provision of infrastructure support to the voluntary and community groups and charities in our District. We also extended funding for a further year to Chichester Festival Theatre, Pallant House Gallery and The Great Sussex Way.    Welcome to this week's blog. As always, thank you for sparing the time to have a read. On Monday Val had CDC’s Boundary Review Panel and Donna had a meeting of WSCC’s Governance Committee. On Tuesday I had my regular briefing from CDC’s Senior Leadership Team. On Wednesday Val and Donna had CDC’s Planning. Later that day, Ali, Ian, Mike, Donna and I had STC's Finance and Administration group. Thursday was CDC’s Budget Review Group, which Donna is now on too so we retain input when meetings clash with school. Next week the whole team has an Extraordinary Full STC at 6pm on Wednesday before Mick, Val, Ali, Andrew and Gareth have Planning at 7.30pm.       Welcome to this week's blog. As always, thank you for sparing the time to have a read. This week Donna had CDC’s Corporate Plan task and finish group on Wednesday, and their Housing Strategy group and an Overview and Scrutiny Committee workshop on Thursday. In between, I dropped her off in Sidlesham for a meeting with Sidlesham Parish Councillors and returned her to CDC as I was on Half Term. This coming Monday Val has CDC’s Boundary Review panel which I may be unable to join as its the first day back at school. Meanwhile Donna has a meeting of WSCC’s Governance Committee. On Tuesday Val is hoping to sit in on CDC’s Cabinet and on Wednesday she and Donna have CDC’s Planning.
